Jana Morehouse, Editor
Jana Morehouse is ecstatic to be involved with Scribendi for another year. She was drawn to the process last year by the scratch of the copyediting pen, and is being kept here this year by the click of the computer using Adobe InDesign. Her interests include anthropology (her major) and all things anthropological (there are many), monkey socks, water, and bicycling. Jana thanks her boyfriend Ryan and her two cats, SCSI and Jupiter, for keeping her sane.

Danny Wells, Assistant Editor
Danny Wells is a fifth year senior studying English-Philosophy. He is currently contemplating the next seventy years of his life and what he will actually do with them. Contemplating may be his only definite skill, and this may or may not be a problem.

Clara Boling, Office Manager
Clara Boling is a senior majoring in English and minoring in Linguistics. She’s obsessive about grammar, nervous about loud noises, and thrilled about working with Scribendi again. Her work ethic is fueled by chunky peanut butter and Frontier tortillas.

Kathryn Collison, Faculty Advisor
Kathryn Collison has an MFA from Eastern Washington University and is currently the Scribendi 2007-2008 Faculty Advisor. She also teaches "Legacy of the Family Story" in the UHP. She has taught poetry in high schools, community college, and a correctional facility. A UHP graduate and past Scribendi staff member, she is happy to be back in Albuquerque and at UNM.

Daniel Abeyta is a Spanish Literature major and plans on going into Education. He has a genuine curiosity for people and enjoys encouraging them to pursue their dreams, which complements his interest in becoming a teacher. Being a part of the Scribendi staff is a way that he has found to learn more about the process of writing, observe the ways that students express themselves, and be more aware of the details that make life interesting and worthwhile.

Halee Baird is a senior majoring in English. She enjoys reading, walking, and hanging out with her friends. Halee is currently planning her first trip to Europe and trying to avoid a future in a cardboard box. Her favorite mammal is a giraffe because they make her laugh.

Krista Edwards is a sophomore at UNM, planning on majoring in Psychology. Her passions beyond Scribendi include running, snowboarding, and blowing bubbles, and she believes that any bad day can be cured with a tall iced caramel macchiato.

Anya Kurennaya is a Regent’s Scholar majoring in Linguistics and Journalism and minoring in Mathematics. Her hobbies include traveling, snowboarding, reading fashion magazines, and listening to (and performing onstage with) her musical idol, Rufus Wainwright. She is excited about spending next year studying abroad in England. In addition to her classes at UNM, Anya also studies fashion design and photography in Santa Fe, and she hopes to one day be a major fashion designer living in Manhattan.

Susan Mirabal is majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. She was born in Trujillo, Peru and has lived in and traveled to many countries. She is trilingual. Susan loves to draw, oil paint, and surf. She hopes to go into Medicine and become a surgeon. And, most importantly, her favorite animal would have to be a tie between koalas and cows.

Arielle Nylander is (about to be) a second year junior. She is majoring in Anthropology with a concentration in Ethnography. She enjoys nitpicking others’ writing and hopes to one day work up the nerve to submit some of her own work to Scribendi.

Jennifer Olson is a sophomore studying English and Journalism. In addition to writing, she takes joy in traveling, smiling, making friends, and being outdoors.

Robby Ortiz is a jack of all trades, who hates being called jack. He is a Residence Hall Advisor and is involved in Greek life. His favorite animal is the penguin, especially with garlic. He enjoys living life (because what else would you do with it?) and especially loves outdoor sports and weight lifting. One time, after awaking from a nap, he discovered a wet noodle in his belly button — but he never ate noodles that day, and it is still a mystery. Robby is an English Rhetoric and Philosophy major and hopes that one day he will not have a job, but rather just have fun with his wife and children (he needs some of those too, though).

Bryan Schroeder is an English major, concentrating in Professional Writing. When he's not busy doing homework (and shrugging off its debilitating effects), he likes to listen to and write music.

Christina Vehar is a senior studying Public Relations and Professional Writing. Although her plans for post-graduation change often, this week she wants to work with wildlife conservation. Ideally, she would like to save tigers with the World Wildlife Fund. In her spare time, she searches the world for grammar errors and thinks about ways to reinvent the wheel.
